REFUGEE OUTREACH January-February 2006
Page 7

The next morning, Po Po made calls to a friend to get camp passes for me and a truck and driver to take her and I into Mae Rah Moo camp. I had expected to meet Pastor Lah Kler in Mae Sariang, but he and his family had been one of the 200 chosen by UNHCR to relocate to Norway and he was in orientation meetings. I went over to the Karen Hill Tribe dorm at the Seventh Day Adventist church that IAG had helped build 5 years ago.

Pastor Ah Gah had just arrived from a trip deep inside Burma to take food, medicine and supplies in to Internally Displaced Persons living in remote mountain village. I had met Ah Gah several years ago. He is the Northern Thailand director of the SDA Conference. I also met an old friend, Ka Soo who I had met in Mae Way Klo in 1998. Ka Soo has been asked to take over the church in Mae Rah Moo when Pastor Lah Kler leaves. I had been very concerned about who would disburse our money to the children in the camp since Lah Kler had done it for many years for me. I had prayed that the Lord would bring someone I could trust without a doubt. Pastor Ah Gah told me he would be happy to help me. He has Thai I.D., a bank account and has lived in Thailand over 40 years. He is exactly who I needed! He said he would work with Ka Soo to see the children got their money each time I sent a disbursement.

Ah Gah then told me that he had seen such great need for the children to have warm clothing when he visited the IDP village in Burma. He wanted to buy 35 sets of socks and caps and take them in. I had been given money by a church in Mississippi and I felt this was the perfect way to use their love offering. I gave Ah Gah the money and asked him to get the socks and caps to them as soon as possible.
