REFUGEE OUTREACH January-February 2006
Page 12

I would like to return to the camps in January 2007. I found that being gone 3 years was way too long and I have to make it a priority to travel there as often as possible.

Since I got back to the U.S., we have been able to send in the money needed to build a kitchen for the Mu Aye Pu hospital. Our next project will be a nurses' dorm, then an Out-Patient Clinic.

I received a call from Po Po in Thailand in the middle of the night on March 17th, 2006. She had gotten a call from Mi Mi. She and her husband and all their children were traveling to Mae La camp where they were moving so she and Ruby could teach at Eden Valley Academy. They were stopped at a check point and since most of the children did not have Thai I.D., the children were arrested and taken from them until they could come up with the "ransom" money. They charged 650 baht per child. That would be roughly $16.00 per child. Mi Mi had some money but was 3,600 baht short. She asked Po Po to contact Pee Pee and see if I could help. I assured Po Po that we would and told her where to go to get the money. This is just one example of the terrible life our dear friends have to face on a daily basis. It was late the next day when Mi Mi called me directly and I told her who to contact and she said she would and thanked me profusely. I assured her that the money was from the Lord, because I sure didn't have it. I was just stepping out in faith as I always do. She was able to get the money that was needed and have her children returned to her.

I want to thank each and every one of you for your generous gifts of sponsor funds, and money for travel expenses. Without you all, International Assistance Group could do nothing.

Thanks so much for helping to Make a Difference, One Life at a Time
